Video: Ben Foden upper-body workout


The 2012-13 rugby season has been one of frustration for Northampton Saints full-back Ben Foden. A serious ankle ligament injury in September restricted his league appearances, which in turn meant he missed out on the England Six Nations squad and was not in the Lions squad for the 2013 tour of Australia.

But time on the sidelines enabled him to work on his upper-body strength, which he’s added to his attacking arsenal alongside lightning speed and acceleration. Since his return he’s helped the Saints reach the Aviva Premiership play-offs and now he’s back in Stuart Lancaster’s England squad for their summer tour of Argentina, snapping at the heels of the Lions full-backs.

We caught up with the 27-year-old at London’s Soho Gym in Waterloo. Watch the video for his upper-body workout.
